Paste with fungicide

Evening folks.

I’ll be hanging a vinyl wallpaper tomorrow on a hallway. The label says to use a paste containing a fungicide, so basically a flake paste.

Ideally I’d prefer to use a ready mix paste for this one, probably Crown or Beeline red lid as it’s a decent weight of a paper gong onto previously painted lining paper that’s been sealed with Beeline Sealer.

I’ve had good results with these products in the past with heavier weighted papers. However I’m pretty sure these ready mixed...

Heres a link to this paper a client wants a price for. https://www.fschumacher.com/item/5005881

Theres not much for directions, and they couldnt tell me much over the phone, except that its a paper.

I have a few questions, maybe you guys have encountered this. Does very wide paper like this expand and shrink a lot more than regular paper? Should I use a liner to help with the shrinking? Can I hang this by myself without ripping it? Should I book more or less? Thanks in advance!

Tape over cracks. How I do it

Just a quick how to on taping cracks. Just how I do it using Toupret standard power filler. First scrape any loose paint around crack if any. Run a knife along joint to open up a little. Seal with any wb undercoat so filler sticks nicely to joint (Not Pva) I normally just apply undercoat along the crack, as the plaster or plasterboard surface can be a little dry and powdery so sealing helps the filler stick nicely. You will need some Gyproc FibaTape Perfect Finish as it's 30% thinner than...

Changing from Advance Satin

Hi all. Have gone back to a job recently that i had done last year and have noticed a slight colour change in the Advance Satin. Its not yellowed, but just a subtle change on a staircase with not a lot of light.

I have been thinking for a while about changing to one of the purely acrylic products, mainly because of quicker re coat times. I've flirted with Helmi, but the opacity isn't there compared to BM.

I've used a lot of the Aura Exterior Satin, so I'm presuming the interior version...

Low VOC emulsion

I have a job to price, the entire interior of which, will be sprayed in a white matt emulsion finish. Unfortunately the client informs me she is very sensitive to chemicals in paint, so I need a paint with zero VOC's , but is also fairly inexpensive as I'll be ploughing through gallons of the stuff.......any suggestions ?? it doesn't have to be durable or anything, she just want's a clean base that she can decorate over later. Cheers in advance !

Upvc plastic replacement

A few times a year I have to replace the plastic strip around the inside of windows.. Fitters just stick the strips over the wallpaper so it falls off when paper is removed.. Sometimes... Anyway, the centre strip in the picture is cit as you can see but a really long length of replacement that I've cut ready is also in the picture, and was only £2.50 plus vat to buy from plastic centre... Don't panic if it happens to you as cheap as chips.. Anyone else get this trouble?...

Today was a great opportunity to try all three in identical circumstances.
I had a badly stippled landing wall with tram lines and snots that needed a really good sand.
I used my Mirka Ceros on a medium speed hooked up to my Fein extractor.
I measured three 1Metre wide strips from skirting to ceiling ( 2.3 m) and used one disc from each manufacture in each strip.
All three lasted well with more to give if you were a tight arse!
All of them left roughly the same amount of dust on the wall.
We...

Hi got my new Graco HVLP 9.5 Procomp and used it at my place the weekend.

The doors and trim was finished in some type of clear varnish, knots spot primed with Isofix.

First High Hide I love this paint you can tell is quality by the weight of the can! Thinned it about 5% and warmed it just over 24 degrease sprayed very well I did coat as heavy as I could and it pulled back and dried very well great adhesion and obliteration.

Next day Natura this was given to me by Craig to test I used...

Hi Everyone!

I can confirm that the Mirka LEROS will be available from April 4th!

The Mirka LEROS is an innovative wall and ceiling sander. It is not a dry wall sander, think of it as a large Mirka DEROS on a long pole! Some of the innovative features include…

· 180 degrees of flexibility, this significantly improves the ergonomics of the tool. The movement becomes similar to using a long paint roller.

· There are dual suction points and the backing pad has also been optimised for dust...
