Made by Anza who own Hamilton
this tool was used by me on few furniture projects.
Helmi/ Betolux Akva/ Pegaprim Xpress and Kiva.
Absolutely love it.
The synthetic bristle won't hold much paint hence is hard to use it as brush on tool.
Strictly for Laying off/ structuring work.
The method of using it as per producer recommendedations:
Not loading with paint, cleaning after each pass, not worked for me.
My technique involve fully loading it and keeping bristle wet with fresh paint all the...

Hi,
Now I know the TDS says do not thin for HH, but has anyone else on here thinned it 10% or even more to aid absorbtion over bare surfaces like plaster or MDF. I did it with Stix and it worked really well.
Thanks

Hi,
Just wondered what everyones favourite BM wall paint is?
I know there are different variables for each situation, but if you had to choose just one which would it be... I used to use Regal alot! then US500 but found it a tad sticky and draggy on the second coat. Love Scuffx but i think the matte is prob going to be a bit shiny.
What are every ones thoughts?
thanks

Sealing bare brickwork

I have an exterior job coming up in May time, previously painted render which isn’t a problem, have some bare brickwork, in good condition that needs sealing/priming & then given 2 coats of water based masonry. Does anyone advise a product to use to seal/prime the brickwork prior to painting? I assume it needs to be a stabilising solution that will continue to let the wall breathe?

Low VOC emulsion

I have a job to price, the entire interior of which, will be sprayed in a white matt emulsion finish. Unfortunately the client informs me she is very sensitive to chemicals in paint, so I need a paint with zero VOC's , but is also fairly inexpensive as I'll be ploughing through gallons of the stuff.......any suggestions ?? it doesn't have to be durable or anything, she just want's a clean base that she can decorate over later. Cheers in advance !

Has anyone uncovered anything unusual while working at a customers house?
Have found old pay slips/ newspapers etc. But at an old cottage I recently decorated the customer said they found a roman soldiers sandal in the wattle and daub when they had to make a repair. (Builders were just the same back then).

I'm sure we all get emailed or told about deals on tools and materials which we either thank our lucky stars for or think 'damn I wish that was a week ago' as it could have saved me a few bob.

So it stands to reason that whilst the many deals we come across might not suit you at the time, it might be perfect for your fellow brother/sister of the brush.

With that in mind I propose we have a sticky thread where members can post the latest offers/specials/clearance... ect ect deals they come...

Had a odd one today, I use Gardz quite a bit but its let me down today or I have done someting wrong.

Stripped a ceiling of paper and washed pasye off the old paint underneath looks like oil Eggshell after sanding and a dust I put a good coat of Gardz on this was last week.

Today first coat of Anti-reflex no problem then second coat and lots of small blisters all over they seem to be drying back will see in the morning.

Any ideas or thoughts what I have done wrong?

Tikkurila products

I'd like some help on their products only. Not their customer service or prices. I have a job that a customer would liked priced using another product other than BM. Below are the products I have spec'd and priced for, so if you fellow decorators and trades people can offer up Tikkurila alternatives, that would be great.

BM Bath and Spa - 2 coat coverage in colour
BM ceiling paint - 2 coat coverage in white
BM High Hide - 1 coat
BM Adv satin - 2 coat coverage in white
BM Aura matte - 2 coat...
