Like in the title.
What's wrong with Mylands in your opinions, compared to BM? Price , smell, flow, durability?
Used to love it. Particularly Eggshell and Dead Matt.

Hamilton larger type mini roller

I still like these the best for applying trim paints. I normally brush out. Just like the speed and the amount you can apply. No fluff problems either. Not so good for emulsion though as a little to textured i find... Applying wb undercoat in this pic [IMG]

Tape over cracks. How I do it

Just a quick how to on taping cracks. Just how I do it using Toupret standard power filler. First scrape any loose paint around crack if any. Run a knife along joint to open up a little. Seal with any wb undercoat so filler sticks nicely to joint (Not Pva) I normally just apply undercoat along the crack, as the plaster or plasterboard surface can be a little dry and powdery so sealing helps the filler stick nicely. You will need some Gyproc FibaTape Perfect Finish as it's 30% thinner than...

Benjamin Moore scuff X

Ordering some paint today for fitted mdf wardrobes that I’m spraying next week. Usually use advance which is amazing. Customer wants a matt finish. Scuff X seems to be getting great reviews and the recoat time is very tempting!
How does it compare in application and finish to advance? High hide is going on first.
Got to get it ordered today so any advice really appreciated.

Festool RO90

hi.

Yesterday my festool ro90 was playing up a bit. Basically it kept momentarily cutting out for nothing more than a second. Not even long enough for it to tell the extractor to stop. If you turned it on and just held it in your hand without putting the sanding pad on a surface it was fine and wouldn't cut out, it only happened when it was actually sanding something. It was a vertical surface we were trying to sand and it made no difference if we held it upright, upside down, leaning to...

Howdens "ready to paint" Kitchens rant

I have just been to collect some kitchen doors a customer had ordered from Howdens that are part of their new Ready to Paint range. When I opened them I thought there had been a mistake as they are wrapped doors. Apparently not, the ready to paint doors are indeed wrapped and they double up as their new Standard White finish too!!

So now they need an adhesion primer along with the 4 coats I already have to put on as it's an extremely strong colour. Totally out of order on Howdens part, I...

Benjamin Moore exterior paint

I have a large exterior job to price up for this summer, looking at using a water based paint for the windows and doors. I’m very new to the BM scene having only used the Advance satin and gloss. What product would you reccomend for previously painted windows? Primer, top coat, etc.

As well as exterior, what product do you find best for interior ceilings and walls? I’ve seen a few posts where decorators have had to apply 3 coats of BM paint, which for the price doesn’t seem too tempting!...

Make a scuttle from a metal can

Seen an old boy do this years ago where he smacked the metal can to make a ridge for the mini roller.I don't think this is good practice but has it uses on occasions. Saves trying to get the last drop out the can or getting a tray out. Picture is a can of BIN smacked side. I used mini roller on some staining and finished the can contents

Paste with fungicide

Evening folks.

I’ll be hanging a vinyl wallpaper tomorrow on a hallway. The label says to use a paste containing a fungicide, so basically a flake paste.

Ideally I’d prefer to use a ready mix paste for this one, probably Crown or Beeline red lid as it’s a decent weight of a paper gong onto previously painted lining paper that’s been sealed with Beeline Sealer.

I’ve had good results with these products in the past with heavier weighted papers. However I’m pretty sure these ready mixed...

Had a kitchen that had a nicotene covered ceiling, along with the walls and entire property! I washed it down with sugar soap, rinsed twice and stainblocked with 2 coats of coverstain but it seems to have failed as theirs yellow stains coming through the acrylic eggshell. Iv never had this before as its always been a spot on way of dealing with it so id be interested to hear of other ppls thoughts and methods.

I've just used up the last of my Zinsser bin and my free sample of the Fossa blocking primer from DD and now I'm looking for a good knot blocking primre to use over previously painted trim where knot bleeding has occurred and maybe on new wood. Caporarol holz isogrund has come up and just found that F & B now do a similar type w/b primer, any others or info on ones I have mentioned already?

I never knew you could get giant tins of 2 pack. I seen a different brand in trade centre a while back but at £40+ vat I gave it a miss. Was looking about online last week and found this stuff for £19 delivered.. I can't stop looking at it as I've wasted a small fortune keep buying those small tins over the years. I'm looking at this tin now.. It's just massive.Ginormous! Anyone buy this product in this size? Did I get the correct stuff? [IMG]
