Noise cancelling headphones

After getting a pair of these for work. Currently use plug in earphones which are good quality but still find I have to have on nearly full volume to block out sound of deros and midi etc. That's even with a pair of ear defenders over them too. Worried I'm gonna end up with tinnitus at this rate.

I seem to remember @3 spires having a posh pair as well as @ajmdecorators? I don't wanna spend loads tbh as I know you can spend serious dosh on them. Was...

First Graco purchased!

Finally took the plunge and bought myself a Graco airless sprayer! Went for the GX21 FF. Brilliant advice & customer service from the guys at Sprayman. Purchased on Sunday & arrived this afternoon!

First job will be a big refurb job, all newly plastered ceiling & walls with anti reflex & Optiva 5. Plenty of rooms to get practicing in, helps that it’s a family friend too. Bit nervous on getting started but I’m determined to give it a good go!

Any advice is welcomed!!

I'm sure we all get emailed or told about deals on tools and materials which we either thank our lucky stars for or think 'damn I wish that was a week ago' as it could have saved me a few bob.

So it stands to reason that whilst the many deals we come across might not suit you at the time, it might be perfect for your fellow brother/sister of the brush.

With that in mind I propose we have a sticky thread where members can post the latest offers/specials/clearance... ect ect deals...

Had a couple of these sleeves for free with my last order so heres a little review

Paint: BM High Hide & BM Aura Eggshell

Surface: MDF Boards

Needed a quality finish on the boards and these sleeves were great, good pick up of paint and rolled out great, was actually asked if we'd sprayed them up.

Really rate these sleeves and they would be very handy to use alongside your spraying equipment, perfect for doors, sills, flat surfaces.

Thanks @decoratingdirect

I have a kitchen floor to sand the customer has had varnish and Osmo over that, hay ho it has to be sanded back to bare wood, because its a kitchen I am in two minds to attack it with my RO90 or hire a floor sander problem being getting under the units to the plinth so I will have to result to using the Festool.

Has anyone had experence with sanding Osmo / varnish I know a hire sander will do the job but unsure how the Ro90 will fair, I have my RTS, ETS150 and a Makita ½ sheet sander its...

Just used this on a couple of bedrooms as customer requested it, got to say i'm not impressed.
£46.50 for half a gallon ; premium price but no way in this world a premium paint, would a been better and a lot cheaper for Tik or Dulux, even BM would a worked out cheaper litre for litre and ten times the quality.!

its taken 3 gallon for two medium sized bedrooms ceiling and walls plus beams 3 cts as the opacity was poor at a cost of £280.00
Dulux would have comfortably coated the same up 2 cts...

Nice American paper

Just on with this, 27” wide acrylic coated paper by American paper firm wall quest.
First impressions you think its gonna be a pig to hang.
its paste the paper, i prefer paste the wall at this width, and as its a bit on the thin side the width issue can be challenging when its soaked, its quite tough paper though
Used beeline light r/m, soak for five minutes, short lengths though at 9 yards.it would seem that not only do our friends over the water make good paint, they also make pretty fine...

Air assisted airless settings

Thought it might be a good idea to create a thread for anyone using AAA so we can share fluid and air pressure settings for various paints.
I was spraying tikkurila anti-reflex yesterday. Thinned it 10 percent. Fluid Pressure around 1600-1700. Air pressure 25-30 psi. 415 tip.
How high do people go on the air pressure before it starts drying on the tip?

Best dust sheets

Good evening all. I've done a search but didn't get specific info, so here goes. I've got a brand new £3m 7 bed exec to do. It is carpeted throughout, everything is brand new. One of the couple does not like the builders finish or colours on walls, skirting, door frames. The lids are ok. I don't feel happy taking my dust sheets in, they suddenly look shot. So I could do a 2m (must be 100% safe) strip around the edge in each room in the sticky roll , or new sheets. I think sheets would be...

Hate the name craft beers as it makes you sound like a right tit when you say you drink them.

Just thought I'd post for anyone who enjoys overpriced craft beers like I occasionally do. This is a new one from Cloudwater and it's the nicest ale I've ever had. It's ten quid a can so you'd hope it's good but at ten per cent it's nearly as strong and as large size wise as a bottle of wine. You'd only get an average bottle of wine for that price whereas this is the best ale there is imo.

It's...

I have seen this week that Spraying Makes Sense has been accredited with City & Guilds status and they have expanded their courses to include furniture spraying and they have become the official training course for Kolorbond.

I have not been on a course but hear good things about them also been tempted with spending £50 on the masking course that give access to lots of videos.

The airless course is a 2 day the first they do the basics great for a newbee but for someone experienced its a...
