Where to stop colour change?

on exterior casment side hinged and some top hinged windows that open outward where do you stop when outside and inside are totally different colours. In the case of my next job the interior is stained light oak and outside face is dark mahogany. When the windows are open all the internal aperture and window frames are the interior colour.
The dark mahogany is being changed to a light sage green but unsure how far to take new colour inwards so to speak.
