Sealant for filling between oak and plaster prior to Papering?

Evening all
I have lined walls with oak frames and skirts around. There are some gaps between the skirts and walls in places up to 2mm. The doorframes have a 4-5mm gap
I think it'd be best to use a matching brown sealant before papering but unsure which type is best
