Prepping walls in new builds

So, as the title says, I am keen to know how you decorators prep the WALLS, and in what order. The reason for this is because I am doing more of this work at the moment I think I could be creating more work for myself. This is how I do my walls.

Mistcoat.
First top coat.
First fill.
Mirka 180 (this will only take off any snorts and lumps, not erode any of the first finish coat)
Fine fill anything I see whilst using the mirka.
Final sand of the fine filler.
Spot in.
Final coat.
